THINGS TO DO AT SILVER SANDS

Silver Sands is a secluded resort community of about 90 privately owned villas. It is on a 250 acre hilly site that comes down to the azure and turquoise Caribbean Sea where there is a half mile long gorgeous fine white coral sand private beach.

Some who come to Jamahome are content just to sit on the sun porch and be mesmerized by the soft warm ocean breezes and the stunningly blue Caribbean stretching into the distance. But for the more active, there's lots to do right at Silver Sands.

The Beach at Silver Sands The Beach
There are two fine white coral sand beaches at Silver Sands available for free use by our guests. The beach right in front of Jamahome is superb for snorkeling and exploring, and the one to the east 100 yards is renowned for sunbathing and swimming. It has lifeguards, drink and snack bars, a child’s playground and a clubhouse with TV, some games and a notions store.

Snorkeling the reefs at Silver Sands Snorkeling
There is a spectacular coral reef a half-mile out from the Silver Sands beach, and you can hire a local fisherman to take you out there for snorkeling. The current charge is about US$15 per person for an outing. There is snorkeling gear at Jamahome for your use. The beaches in front of Jamahome and to the east of the main beach both have smaller coral areas providing wonderful spots for snorkeling. A pair of rubber soled beach shoes makes it very easy to do.

The tennis courts at Silver Sands Fishing
You can hire a local fisherman to take you out fishing at Silver Sands, and he will provide bait and other equipment.

  Tennis
The court at Silver Sands is available to guests at a small fee. There are several tennis rackets at Jamahome for your use.

Walking
The streets on the complex are fine for a leisurely stroll or even jogging. The roads outside the complex can be explored also. There is a cave on the left off the road about a half mile to the west. Watch out for cows and goats!

Night Life
Silver Sands itself is rather sleepy, but there is entertainment at the clubhouse from time to time. You can hire the Powerhouse group to come to Jamahome for a reggae music concert for a reasonable fee. Claudette can help arrange that.
