Frequently Asked Questions
Changing Money Actually, we have found that you really do not have to change money: you can tip and pay people in US$ almost everywhere. You can also use your charge card almost anywhere. However, most cards charge a currency conversion fee, and you need to let your charge card company know the dates you will be in Jamaica.

Food Staff Tips It is customary to tip the staff when you depart. The standard tip is US$5.00 per guest per day including both the day of arrival and departure, which are heavy work days for them. If you feel you have been especially well taken care of, tip more than the standard. You may pay in either US or Jamaican dollars and should pay the whole tip to Claudette, who will divide it amongst the staff appropriately.

Testimonials
"We have vacationed at Jamahome for the past nine years and we're going again this year. The home is spacious. Bedrooms are air conditioned with window units. There is a nice screened sunroom that overlooks the water, although you cannot swim right at the house [however, toddlers can wade there]; the swimming beach is a 2-minute walk. There's a TV, DVD player and CD player, and plenty of books and games. Jamahome is in a secure, gated community, and the gorgeous beach is private to the Silver Sands community, so there are no panhandlers or unwelcome nuisances at the beach." Read more... |
